Thanksgiving & Events! • • • • • November 26, 2008

Oh my goodness, how time flies! Tomorrow is my favorite day of the whole year and I am looking forward to seeing a bit of the parade, spending some QT with the family and, of course, chowin' down. In the words of my sister, it's triptophantastic!

In honor of the holiday, I put together this lovely image over on at the Chew Family Papers blog:

I'm pretty proud of it so I will display it here too.

And I shall end this post with a quick reminder about the event this Friday:

It's The Greatest Trunk Show on Earth!

10 am to 3 pm
at the TLA
334 South Street
Philadelphia, PA

See you there! And wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Oh yeah! I added something snazzy to this underused* website of mine... I present to you: a List of Events!

<<<<< See it over there on the lefthand column? Scroll a little... You got it!

Now you know where you can find me selling my wares and presenting my work this holiday season and forever! I've got a ton of events coming up and I have been plugging away making lots to sell. I'll give some sneak previews before the Book Paper Scissors event next Saturday!

*I am trying very hard to make this website better! Any suggestions?

Two lovely ladies in New Zealand who write the blog, lilysmakebelieve, gave a shout out to my fused plastic bag books the other day! I really enjoy making objects out of the fused plastic bags - it's a great material. I have quite the stockpile of the fused plastic sheeting, so I would like to get back into finding new ways to play around with it. They have their own Etsy site as well over here. I've got my eye on this pretzel necklace:

Speaking of Voting... • • • • • November 4, 2008
Just heard a funny phonecall into NPR's Special Election Coverage: an election official from Rabbit Hash, KY called in to share news of their special Mayor Race. The official boasted that over 350 people had voted for the Presidential Election so far today, but held more pride in the amount of votes tallied so far in their Mayoral Race! Log onto the Official Election Center for Rabbit Hash, KY and scroll through their interesting candidates! In the lead is Travis the cat, well ahead of a slew of dogs, a donkey and one human. What a great fundraiser for The Rabbit Hash Historical Society! So silly. Of course, I love it.

CONGRATS to the 2008 World Series Champs, the Philadelphia Phillies!!!!

It's been a great few days in Philadelphia since the Phils clinched the World Series win on Wednesday night!! I grew up going to Phillies games at the Vet and was able to enjoy a handful of games this season at Citizen's Bank Park. After the game on Wednesday night, I ran down to Broad Street for celebratory high-fives. Yesterday, I meandered my way through crowds to catch a tiny glimpse of the Phanatic at the parade. I have never seen so many people in one place in my life as I have seen these past few days...

Wednesday night, Broad Street

Friday, Parade on Broad Street

oh, and I made this ytmnd page in celebration: LIGHTS OUT LIDGE
